Position Summary

                The AP and Payroll Specialist will support the function of payroll processing, special projects in the accounting department, payroll investigations, payroll system information administration, sorting invoices, receipts, BOLs, etc. as well as investigating & resolving back charges and other AP issues.

Minimum Qualifications:                                                          

  • Associates Degree, or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Three (3) – five (5) years of accounting data entry / administrative
  • Three (3) – five (5) or more years’ industry related administrative experience, including preparing payroll for 50+ employees, in addition to previous experience working in the construction industry.
  • Basic administrative / clerical skills / computer proficiency, including an understanding of Microsoft Office and the operation of common financial software programs.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Experience with two or more payroll processing systems preferably COMPUTEREASE
  • Experience processing payroll for a company of 150+ employees
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Skilled in payroll error investigation
  • Proficient in financial software programs
  • Preparing weekly payables
  • Entering new vendors into the accounting system
  • Management of credit card and fleet card receipt statements
  • Obtaining and system matching of all missing invoices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing payroll information in the payroll system
  • Investigating payroll errors and finding solutions
  • Processing payroll on a weekly basis
  • Emailing employee paystubs to employees
  • Ordering office supplies along with additional accounting special projects
  • Primarily responsible for entering accounts payables into Computer Ease
  • Fleet card statement reconciliation
  • Credit card statement reconciliation
  • Sorting invoices, receipts, BOLs, etc.
  • Investigating & resolving back charges and other A/P issues
  • This position consists of multiple duties, which must be performed accurately, completely, and to the Company’s time, budget and quality standards. Maintaining confidentiality in connection with all duties is paramount for this position.
